Students of elemental magic generally start by selecting one or more elements (wind, fire, water, and earth). Although it’s rare, some students opt to study all four. The advantage is the student will progress quickly as each element reinforces the other, and the student will have a deep well as a result. The disadvantage is a lack of versatility.

While each of the elements should be relatively self-explanatory, there are a things to highlight. Water and earth are generally more defensive, while wind and fire are better suited for offense. Each element, at advanced levels, allows a caster to coalesce their chosen element into a construct known as an elemental.

Finally, prior to the Shattering, (of Gaea) elemental magic was a broader field of study. It included spells that worked with plants and animals.

General Note: In Citadel of the Fallen, we see healing magic through Conner’s point of view. Instead of cluttering every healing scene with spell names, I opted to use very general terms when discussing healing magic. I felt this approach would deliver a more organic experience for the reader. In the WIKI, however, I’m choosing to break things down to a more granular level.
