One of the most advanced feats of balance magic, Breath of Battle grants the caster an immediate counterattack whenever they dodge an incoming melee strike. When combined with the balance Shieldspell, Breath of Battle can be quite lethal.
It’s most effective when used against a host of smaller attackers. For instance, Solen used it to great effect when being swarmed by the giant ants of the Black Tide.
