Battle magic is designed for armored combatants. Where balance magic helps a fighter get out of the way of a blow, battle magic specializes in dissipating the force of incoming attacks. At advanced levels, battle magic grants some protection against enemy magic. Battle mages can even learn to extend this protection to others fighting beside them.
